Taiwanese shipbuilder CSBC has inked a deal to build two 1,800 teu container ships with an option for another two with compatriot carrier TS Lines.
This deal is CSBC’s first order for 2015.
The first ship is expected to be delivered in the second half of 2017. However, the price of the newbuildings was not disclosed.
On 6 July, Taiwanese carrier Evergreen confirmed the order for five box ships at CSBC at the price of USD36 million-39 million each, with total expense expected to be around USD180-USD195 million.
In October 2014 CSBC inked a deal with Greenland Petroleum Operations (GPO) in Singapore for four 65,000 dwt semisubmersible heavy-lift vessels.
