Hance Smith - World Fisheries Day at the FAO

On World Fisheries Day (21st Nov 2016), Professor Hance Smith represented SRI at a special event hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) at the Sheikh Zayed Centre.

Jointly organized by FAO and the Holy See , the event – “The violation of human rights within the fishing sector and illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing” — called on countries, international organizations, fisherfolk organizations and the fishing industry to work together to promote human rights and guarantee decent work in this critical economic and food-producing sector.
