Malaysia-listed oil and gas company Daya Materials’ (Daya’s) subsidiary Daya OCI has secured a EUR17.7 million (USD19.9 million) subcontract from France-based Axima Concept (Axima).
Under the subcontract, equipment supplier Daya OCI will provide marine heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning equipment and services for six navy vessels, belonging to Axima, a subsidiary of energy company Engie (formerly known as GDF Suez). The contract for the six vessels based at Lumut, Malaysia is effective from 2015 to 2021.
According to the company’s filing in Bursa Malaysia, the subcontract will terminate and supersede the consortium agreement entered with Axima on 18 April 2012. The consortium agreement then was signed with objective for both parties to co-operate on an exclusive basis in order to participate in tenders in Malaysia within the marine and oil and gas sectors.
One year later on 18 April 2013, both parties again entered a consortium agreement for the purpose of submitting an offer for the Malaysia-based Boustead Naval Shipyard’s littoral combats ship project.
