South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai HI has won a new order for two pure car truck carriers from compatriot shipowner Eukor.
The 7,400 car capacity vessels, booked for delivery in 1H17, will be of similar specification to three vessels delivered last year from the same yard.
They will have an overall length of 200 m and a wide-beam configuration of 35.4 m. They will be fitted with a 150-tonne capacity stern quarter ramp together with a single 22-tonne capacity side ramp. Both vessels will be constructed under the supervision of DNV-GL at HHI’s Hyundai Samho shipbuilding facility.
