Leslie Tarantola is General Counsel of the Seafarers’ International Union of North America. She holds an LLM degree in Labour Law from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., and a JD degree from Rutgers School of Law, Newark, New Jersey. She was originally admitted to practise law in New York State in 1979 and has since been admitted to practise in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as in several US Federal District Courts. Since 1990, she has been serving on the Board of Directors of the Lawyers Coordinating Committee and the Lawyers Advisory Panel of the AFL-CIO (the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations).
