Ravi K Mehrotra CBE, Founder and Executive Chairman of Foresight Ltd, London, is a major owner and manager of a variety of vessel types which over the years have included offshore drilling, reefer shipping, tankers and multi-purpose vessels. A marine engineer by training, he held various senior positions at the Shipping Corporation of India before being seconded to Iran in 1975 to help set up a new government-to-government joint venture, the Irano Hind Shipping Company. After the Iranian Revolution in 1979, he was appointed Principal Advisor on Shipping, a position he held for 10 years.
