Singapore-listed shipbuilder JES International Holdings (JES) has appointed Chu Caixia as its non-executive chairman.
JES cited in its filing to the Singapore Exchange (SGX) that Chu is the mother of the incumbent CEO of JES, Jin Yu.
Prior to Chu’s appointment, the company had announced that its former CEO and executive director, Jin Xin, has resigned because of health issues on 25 May. Jin Xin is Jin Yu’s father and before his resignation, he was primarily focused on the restructuring of the group’s subsidiaries in China.

Currently, JES is appealing to Jiangsu High Court against Taizhou Court’s decision on the rejection of the court-led restructuring process of JES’ subsidiaries in China.
Meanwhile, JES also announced the resignation of Roy Ling Chung Yee as the independent director. “Due to cultural differences, management was not always able to revert to Professor Ling’s request and queries to his satisfaction,” explained JES in a corporate statement filed in SGX.
Before Ling’s resignation, he used to lead as the independent director, chairman of nominating committee, and acted as a member of JES’ audit and remuneration committees and remuneration.
