A Malaysia-flagged LPG tanker disappeared in the South China Sea after issuing a distress signal.
Initially, 4,999 dwt Teknogas owned by Uni-Fleet, was en route from Haiphong, Vietnam, to Palembang, Indonesia, when it disappeared from radar.
On 10 June, the crew of Teknogas issued a distress signal at 02:30 h local time, in the position of 07 36’N 108 00’E, approximately 200 nm south of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Since then, there has been no update of the vessel’s position by AIS.
All ships within the vicinity have been requested to keep a lookout for the missing tanker and provide assistance if possible.
