Japan’s Mitsui O.S.K Lines has established a global brand for car carrier services.
The new brand name is MOL Auto Carrier Express (MOL ACE), “ACE” named after its automobile vessel names.
MOL now operates 120 automobile vessels and its offices and agencies are in as many as 140 countries in the world.
Its business is not only transporting finished automobiles, but also buses and trucks as well as machinery and trailers.
In its automobile service section, the company is also keen on developing next-generation ships.
It has delivered a hybrid vehicle vessel (Emerald Ace) in 2012, and has just announced this April a contract to build four vessels (Flexie series) with renewed structure of decks, which increases loading flexibility and number of vehicles.
MOL says the establishment of this new brand shows its intention to further develop its car carrier business and to enhance its brand power worldwide.
The new brand will be used from the first of July.
