Malaysia-listed oil and gas services provider SapuraKencana Petroleum has been awarded contracts with a combined value of up to MYR969 million (USD269 million).
According to its filing to the Malaysian stock exchange Bursa Malaysia, SapuraKencana stated that its wholly owned subsidiaries within the engineering and construction international division have bagged various projects in India, Indonesia, Mexico, and Vietnam.
In Mexico, SapuraKencana Mexicana has secured the contract for the installation of structures and superstructures of fixed marine platforms, pipelaying and lifting of major power generation equipment, and utilising the DP3 heavy-lift and pipelay vessel SapuraKencana 3500, in the Marine Regions, Bay of Campeche, and Gulf of Mexico for the Mexico-based oil and gas exploration company Pemex Exploración y Producción (PEP).
The contract was said to worth between USD41.2 million and USD98.1 million, and marks the initiation of SapuraKencana’s local operations in Mexico.
SapuraKencana TL Offshore in consortium with PT Encona Inti Industri of Indonesia, has been awarded with the contract for the work of offshore and onshore pipeline installation in respect of the construction of Kalija 1 natural gas transmission pipeline of Kepodang, Tambak Lorok segment by Indonesia-based gas company, PT PGAS Solution.
In Vietnam, SapuraKencana has been contracted for the installation services for nearshore and offshore pipeline for phase 1 of the Thai Binh, Ham Rong gas distribution and gathering system project in north Vietnam and the H5-WHP topside and pipelines for the Te Giac Trang field development project, as well as offshore facilities for the Thai Binh development project blocks 102 and 106.
Lastly, SapuraKencana bagged the contract for the provision of transport and installation services for the PB gas lift riser replacement project at Panna offshore field, located approximately 95 km offshore northwest of Mumbai, India, by BG Exploration and Production India. SapuraKencana cited in its corporate release that the total value of the awards in Vietnam and India are worth around USD73.5 million.
