Sete Brasil said it is in the early stage of talks with COSCO Shipyard Group to order two semi-submersible drilling rigs.
The rigs will be deployed in Petrobras’ development of offshore projects in Brazil, Sete Brasil project head Jose Francisco Dutra said at the China Offshore Finance Forum 2015 on 25 June.
The company is discussing finance terms with the China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (Sinosure) and China Export and Import Bank, he said.
Previously, Sete Brasil has placed orders for 13 drilling rigs and drillships at Singaporean shipyards.
The 13 rigs have yet to be delivered, according to IHS Maritime’s Sea-web.com.
