A total of 26 crew members were rescued from five vessels hit by gusts in Liaodong Bay of Bohai Sea in the afternoon of 29 June, according to China’s Beihai Rescue Bureau.
Two of the five vessels sank while three others took on water, the Beihai Rescue Bureau said on 30 June.
At 15:20 h local time on 29 June, Yu Xin Huo 13396 sank 67 n miles northwest of Dalian after all of the five crew members on board were rescued by the rescue helicopter B-7309.
The rescue helicopter also airlifted five other crew members on board Jiang Hang 99 to Dalian at 17:05 h local time the same day, after the vessel took on water about 30 n miles southwest of Bayuquan port.
At 15:36 h local time earlier, dredger Jiang Shun 299 and Guo Liang 7 reported to the search and rescue centre in Hebei province that they took on water 25 n miles east of Jingtang port, with a total of 10 crew members in danger. Then, at 17:28 h local time, the rescue helicopter B-7312 based in Penglai, Shandong airlifted the four crew members on board Guo Liang 7 to Penglai, with the six crew members on board Jiang Shun 299 evacuated to another rescue vessel, Hua Yue.
At 16:38 local time on 29 June, the search and rescue centre in Qinhuangdao in Hebei reported that dredger Cheng Tong 7 sank 40 n miles northeast of Jingtang port, with six crew members falling into the water. At 18:33 h local time, rescue vessel Bei Hai Jiu 111 saved all six crew members and sent them back to Qinhuangdao at 21:45 h local time that same day.
