German shipbroker and operator Arkon Shipping & Projects is restructuring its deepsea dry cargo operations.
The company’s heavy lift chartering services are being relocated to Hamburg where they will be integrated with newly established operator United Heavy Lift.
The latter has been nominated as operator of a large heavy lift multipurpose fleet owned by Haren-based shipowner Jüngerhans with Arkon as exclusive agent.
Arkon’s chartering desk for Handysize-to-Ultramax bulk carriers (“Trading”) will also be moved to Hamburg and share offices with the company’s container ship chartering division, which already operates out of the city.
The group said that the relocation was aimed at expanding its heavy lift, bulk, and newbuilding brokerage activities and that it was seeking to hire more staff to strengthen its teams.
