Li Min, deputy chairman and general manager of Hebei Port Group, has been placed under China Communist Party’s probe over allegations of serious violations of party disciplines and laws, a statement of the party’s discipline inspection commission in Hebei province said on 26 August.
The statement did not specify the details of the violations but such allegations in China usually involve corruption charges.
Li, aged 53, had been deputy general manager of Hebei’s Kailuan Group, a coal mining company before joining Hebei Port Group as deputy chairman and general manager, according to his official resume.
On 27 August, Shanghai-listed Tianjin Port announced that its chairman and president of Tianjin Port (Group) Zheng Qingyue had been held by prosecutors over the charge of dereliction of duty, which is related to the deadly blasts in Tianjin on 12 August.
