SRI has close links with more than 130 specialist lawyers in over 60 countries around the world. Experts in their fields, they are at the cutting edge of the law and how it affects seafarers. These lawyers support SRI in two significant ways:
- They provide professional advice on their national shipping laws which are relevant to the research on one of SRI’s international projects.
- They sign up to the SRI Charter of Good Practice for Provision of Legal Services to Seafarers(the Charter) which protects the interests of seafarers who may need the services of a lawyer who will treat the seafarer fairly, respectfully and without discrimination.
Subscribers to the Charter are lawyers/law firms professionally licensed to practice in their respective jurisdictions.
Please note: SRI cannot accept any legal liability for the professional work of any lawyer/law firm who subscribes to the Charter.
